A Homeless Life - songwriting My name is Dan McGillivray , I,ve written on this site many times, and I,m asking all you songwriters out there a favor. There's a clinic in Albany where the Dr. treats people for free.He is my friend, and now my Dr.I'll write a song about the homeless ,and please I,m really pleading for you to send a contribution to -Koinonia Primary Care 553 Clinton Ave Albany,N.Y 12206 As songwriters you know what needing money is like,Thank you so much.I look forward to reading myself. A Homeless Life It's below zero again tonight And all the missions are locked up tight With some luck I may get a bed tomorrow Tonight it lonesome, frostbite, and sorrow With so many vacant buildings just a waste Most of us if oermitted could fix the space I know so many willing, able,and could to wake up with windowswith four peins of wood People shuffle right on by Most won't look you in the eye You sit there like a flower about to wilt And even if it's not our fault we still feel guilt I start my day the same old way all the degadeing thing's I do or say Hey Sir can you spare some change There are so many that do the smug they snear And the smartass always ays yeah get a beer I think those are the one that don't realize That there a paycheck from looking through my eyes And one thing most of us at one time were that Guy People thing they we want it this way Oh he's to lazy thats where he should stay There's a thousand stories out on these streets I'll tell don't listen while you eat Many just say why don't they get a job I'm sure that someone will hire you,no phone address, no I.D dirtyclothes.yeah you got the job But when I find a place to sleep I say my prayers , and most times I weap I'm ashamed to see my family, There eyes tear up when they look at me I'm writing of a person not me In the summer the heat can help But the sreets to be much meaner any young kids will beat you for fun So many of them and you just one The streets can be never beat But you surely can When your all broke up,feeling all so sad Remember what were doing here Musicians always are the firsr to help I;m asking for a little bit,It's a great cause Without a plan,and the bleses man some will lose all hope Thank You so much remember, I know that the song lacked this or that but I did whatever to get you the message please help Dan McGillivray Click here to read or post comments.
