Some good some needs

You use a mix up of rhyming schemes and that's good.

without a tune to work with it I can only read it through with a metronome and try to see if the lines are balanced. They are not for the most part.

If you, and others, don't have some sort of lead sheet or chords with a tempo to work from then get a download for a metronome and set it at a tempo you think works with your song and then try to sing it along with the beat from the metronome.

You'll see what I mean. Once this is realized I'll bet you can easily go back and get the lines more balanced.
