Then do it with a metronome and see how the lines balance out with the same number of beats to each measure.

Looking forward to hear back from you.

"I have a question, are the numbers at the end of each sentence the number of words?"

No it's not.. it's like for example;
"just some..thing that you've al...ways lacked."
if you count these words it makes 7 lol.
Just Tried something different i Suppose :)
Syllables and counts are meant to match...
even though the it's like 7777, 8787, 10,9,10,10 etc. I know it's not perfect :) just something i wanted to try with writing! :)

Thanks :) x

Let me ask
by: Doc Haley

I got chewed on by some earlier posters so I'm not going to get into much here.

You have a complete song, yes it needs work, but you're most likely able to figure out what it is.

I have a question, are the numbers at the end of each sentence the number of words?

If so you have to do something for me. It's not the number of words as much as it is syllables or beats or counts per measure that you have to follow.

get yourself a metronome and set it to your desired tempo (X beats per minute). Now with the metronome going try to sing your song and not lose or skipping a beat. This will help you find any lines that are runners or show you where a pause is needed and such.

Hope this helps.
