Beginner Songwriting Lyrics

I'm past beginner songwriting now as I'm been writing lyrics and songs for a while but the other day I found my old song journal. There were lots of lyrics I don't even remember. When I started songwriting I wasn't concerned about how I wrote or what I wrote. It just poured out. I wish I could do that now. It actually was a great trip to the past in my life. In those days all my lyrics were about my personal experences so I was walking down memory lane. I'd recommend it to anyone, dig out your first songs and re-read them or play them if their recorded. Its also a great exercise if you feel like your songwriting is in a slump. For me it made me realize how much more I've learned about songwriting. It also made me remember why I started writing in the first place. I still feel the same way. |
