Brave Voice Retreats Taps into the Spirit of the Great Plains and Opens Your Heart
I highly recommend the Brave Voice Retreat in Kansas to anyone who has always wanted to write or sing or who may need to rediscover that voice within.
Each spring this dual singing/songwriting and poetry/prose retreat is held on the Great Plains in an area where Native American tribes used to meet to council together.
You can feel the presence of that powerful spirit all around you. White Memorial is the camp with rooms for everyone--and time to stop and reflect and let the wide open spaces free your mind while the sparkling waters of Council Grove Lake inspire your creativity.
I can't wait to go this year on May 9th and begin again my journey of voice and songwriting. Daytime seminars and evening performances for a week with international singer/songwriter Kelley Hunt and Kansas Poet Laureate Caryn Miriam-Goldberg help focus anew my commitment to music--which has always been the soul of my existence.
New friendships, extended family, new ideas for songs and even a possible novel. Wow..and wow...what an amazing experience! Finding that Brave Voice again!
