"Curled in the Corner" lyrics - Acoustic Folk Rock

by Bobby G
(New York City)

"Curled in the Corner" lyrics

I met a man last night out on the street
He told me things I'd never believe
So I followed him home
And he showed me how to grieve.

They've been telling me to watch for the sun
They say, they say its darkest before dawn
But see, I'm wide awake till the morning comes
I keep missing the alarm

This man disappeared when the day lit through
I was left in his house with nothing to do
So I read his books and subscribed to his rules
I learned to shut my eyes if I want the truth.

It always starts with a girl on a train
She sits next to me and makes my day
But silently, silently.
Then she's gone on and I'm still the same
In my chair, in my heart, in the spills of my pain

I claimed myself a new born soul
It felt good to see a new born world
I was curled in the corner when this man came home
And he scolded me for all I've done
He told me I am all alone.

The weight of the world cannot compare
To the weight of time when its yours to bear
My friends point out soldiers and the guns they wear
I just see heavy hearts in their weightless stares

I begged this man for one more chance
I showed for him my cleansed hands
But all he saw was blood
So he sent me back again.
To the memories inside my head.

Crap. There is more to this song, but this is all I can remember till :( Thanks for reading! -Bobby
