learn to balance your lines
by: Doc Haley

All of the lyrics you will read over on hit songs, those songs that made the top 40 in any genre, will have balanced lines of lyrics.
You can't go from a 5 word to a 9 word line. Can't go from a 4 word to a 9 word line, can't go from a 9 word to a 4 word line unless it's the continuance of the previous line.

Think in terms of:
la la la la la la la
la la la la la la la
la la la
la la la
la la la la
la la la

If you can't read through your lyrics with some sort of continual and consistent beat, then your words need work as is this case.
