Finale Songwriter

Finale Songwriter is the perfect tool for the songwriter’s studio by providing a simple and cosmetic program by which to generate sheet music. It is music notation software that allows the user to add automatic harmonies, transpose to any key, and even add notes by simply clicking on the appropriate staff. In addition, there is a MIDI keyboard option which automatically notates the notes being played in real-time.

Another notable feature of this program is the ability to add custom drum parts in a wide variety of styles, as well as being able to add multiple lyric verses, fretboard diagrams, percussion notation, and chord symbols. The program’s simplest and yet most useful feature is of course the capability to print this attractive sheet music quickly and properly.

Using great songwriting software will help your songs or creative writing. Clicking on MasterWriter 2 will give you a $20 discount off the $199 purchase price. Try out the free trial demo, I think you'll love it.

Once you’ve experimented enough with the trial version, available is the Finale Songwriter upgrade download Paypal accepted. The trial version has all the features of the Finale Songwriter full version, but after thirty days you will have limited features until registering (such as the printing and saving options disabled).

There are many versions of the software available such as Finale Songwriter 2007 and Finale Songwriter 2005, but the most recent (and compatible) version is the 2010. You can find the full catalog of their products at www.finalemusic.com.

A noteworthy addendum to this program is Finale’s own PrintMusic software which increases the number of staves that can be used as well as enabling the use of grace notes, key changes, multiple endings, and dramatically quickens the scanning experience.

With a feature also included with Finale’s Songwriter software, all of one’s compositions can be rendered into digital files which can be equalized thoroughly with a mixing capability (featuring integrated sequencer controls and Human Playback which renders individual notes to play back with the ambience and timbre of live performers).

Of course, both of these programs can be bought together in a more expensive yet fully comprehensive program titled simply Finale.

For the songwriter, there are few other notation programs that can compare. The sheer volume of features and effortlessness usability included with Finale Songwriter make it a very straightforward piece of software to use.

There are many singer songwriter resources available not only in book format but on the Internet as well. Internet sites tend to be pretty comprehensive (as they are usually updated rather frequently) and they’re not difficult to find either.

Ultimate Songwriting is a good site that offers thorough coverage of many topics relating to songwriting as well as recording, publishing, record deals, and various business aspects. Another helpful site would be the Songwriters Resource Network which presents information on composition, lyrics, and publishing.

There is an enormous selection of books available to increase one’s knowledge on the subject. One notable title would be Craft and Business of Songwriting by John Braheny, regarded as a classic text on structure, melody, and the business of the field.

Another inspirational investment would have to be Tunesmith: Inside the Art of Songwriting by Jimmy Webb, which explores the technique and inspiration of the songwriter.

Finally, a third text which could prove to be beneficial for the persistent and pop-oriented songwriter is Jason Blume’s Six Steps to Songwriting Success: The Comprehensive Guide to Writing and Marketing Songs.

Of the artists featured in the Time Life Singers and Songwriters collection are Elton John, Peter Frampton, Glen Campbell, and Eric Clapton among others. There is certainly more of a traditionalist leaning towards classic rock in this collection, but it is a good representation of the genre nevertheless and data can indeed be gleaned from the various approaches to song craft one can experience from these songwriters.

Using this material, one can gather information about popular artists from around the world or in your local district. It is true that there are no limits of discovery in this infinite world, but a good place to start is the Time Life Singers and Songwriters music collection.
