How would one go about finding a songwritng team ?

How would one go about finding a songwriting team ?

I like to write lyrics, mostly as an hobby, and received some very good reviews on other sites, but I a wondering if I can take it a step further. I'd like to be a part of a team that could take some of my material, or others, and really put more effort in it. I myself am influenced by newfoundland music, country, and folk. My biggest problem is that I live in a small isolated town, without much enthusiasm in doing anything of this nature. Would sure be open to any, or all possibilities. any suggestions on how to go about it, would sure be appreciated.
