Not a bad start

I'd put both verses before the chorus but that's me. It needs a bridge or pre-chorus IMHO.

Change some words and make it "mo-kuntry" sounding.
Like:
puppy dog face change to hang dog
It'll make it more the CW style that I'm familiar with.

Also, get the lines balanced (same number of beats-measures-tempo for every verse line. same thing goes for the chorus but the bridge/pre-chorus can be separate and different).
