A great way to take your rhyming skill into another dimension is to learn to use Pat Pattison's family rhyme system. His system will give you thousands of new words you can use. For example, you want to rhyme blood. Using his system you know that you can substitute a "g" for a "d" at the end of the word. The "oo" sound in blood is the same as the "u" sound in bug. So you put in the word bug and look at all the fresh words it gives you that you wouldn't get by just entering "blood". This is fast to do using an online rhyming dictionary. When I put "blood" in RhymeGenerator it returns bud, flood, mud and thud. When I put in bug it returns drug, mug, plug, rug, and thug. Now I have twice as many rhyming words and I still could substitute the letters "k", "b", and "p" by using his system. If you don't take my word for it read Pat's book Writing Better Lyrics.
