'Serenade of the Last Brigade' lyrics - Alternative

by Nick Yanez
(Colorado, USA)

Serenade of the Last Brigade lyrics

I wrote a song about the different types of people there are in the world, and how they each have their own idea of a perfect life. Some reach this ideal, others don't; in the end though, everyone cares about the important things in life.

Say Jack you, won't go back?
It's like a serenade of the last brigade
And you've been trying to get home
Ever since you were sent out alone

Hey man, tell me, what's the plan?
I hear the Parkers son is doing well.
And he's been saving people left and right
Out in the fight

He said he had the heart
To make it from the start?
Said, Honey I'll be home,
To listen to you moan and roam,
I'll be a little while,
But I hope that you still smile,
Because when I get back
Things will be just right, you'll see?

Go girl, you're gonna go far
She's a prom queen in a magazine
And ever since she learned to dance
People cared about her stance

Made love did Madison,
She was a writer, a promising one
But when the papers blew the lid
that she was having a kid, she cried.

She said she had the heart
To make it from the start?
Said, Honey I'll be home,
To listen to you moan and roam,
I?ll be a little while,
But I hope that you still smile,
Because when I get back
Things will be just right, you'll see?

I was talking to my peers,
I hadn't seen them in a couple of years
I talked to Jack; thank God he's back,
He never seemed to like it there.
But Johnny Parkers still at war
He's making more, and more, and more
And who's that girl who turned you down?
Well I heard she's making the talk show rounds.
And how about Madison, the one who got around,
Girl had her fun.
I guess it's hard to tell for me, it seems so perfect from what I've seen?
Everyone is known for what they've done,
But they don?t seem to feel like they've won.

Say jack you, won't go back?
It's like a serenade of the last brigade
It's like a.
