Snake's Road - Lyrics

by Victoria Hanks
(Wales, UK)

Snake's Road - Lyrics

Verse 1

I never said it’d be easy

I never did promise you that

‘cause the road was just clearly

Another example of snake’s path

-

Waves of emotion clashing before us

I lost devotion before the road saw us

But knowing what was to come denied...

Me the chance of this soul mate lie.

Chorus

Snakes don’t move in an even line

They twist and turn to get it right

There was always going to be a snake

We took each step as if we were the same

Walking down snake road

Verse 2

I turned away a thousand hearts

Before I got too close to a fairytale

‘cause too much times I’ve fell apart

To find myself so frail.

-

I never took your heart away

You never took mine back

Then things, they shook & took what may

Had been our only chance in tact.

Chorus

‘Cause snakes don’t move in an even line

They twist and turn to get it right

There was always going to be a snake

We took each step as if we were the same

Walking down snake road.

Verse 3

Maybe if we were to meet in another place

Maybe we’d be running a different chase

to each others hearts, and each others problems,

Where life should start, together we’d solve them.

-

And always be there with a helping hand

Pull up who’s down while one still stands

But sometimes things do lead to an end

So that’s why It’s time to real the pretend.

Chorus

Cause’ snakes don’t move in an even line

They twist and turn to get it right

There was always going to be a snake

We took each step as if we were the same

Walking down snake road.
