Subway to the Sky lyrics - pop

by Bernie Faulkner
(Santa Barbara, CA, USA)

Subway to the Sky lyrics
©Bernard M. Faulkner, 1/1/2005

I never saw another pigeon in the park
Or smoked another with the lads as a lark
Won't caress my dear's lobes
No more dreams, no lettered chords.

When I started my walk
Who would have thought
My lived life was a museum
The body a pedestal for fame.

But when I went down to hop the turnstile
I found myself on my knees
I found the style and all the while
It was the subway to the sky

The underground went round 'n round
Through pitch dark tunnel
If I had eyes you'd see surprise
That this leg wasn't the end of the line.

Let's call the station big pie
And fit it in a song
But there's no lyrics to describe
The beauty that goes on and on....

When I went down to hop the turnstile
I found myself on my knees
I found the style and all the while
It was the subway to the sky

When I went down to hop the turnstile
I found myself on my knees
I found the style and all the while
It was the subway to the sky
