The best in no particular order - Greatset Songwriters In my opinion these are the best of all time: -Paul Mcartney/Lennon (obviously) -Paul Simon (both solo and with S&G) -Leonard Cohen (so good and unique) -Elliott Smith (this guys lyrics are heartbreaking and for the most part pritty depressing, but he was truly a songwritting genius. You gotta check his stuff out if u havent heard it) -Neil Young (probably wrote some of the greatest songs everrr. for example: Old man, Comes a Time & helpless) -Joni Mitchell (definently the best female songwriter) -Morrisey (exremly unique and really hes got some really cool stuff "there is a light that never goes out" is a great example of his songwritting skills) -Lou Reed (definently a songwritting pioneer... he was ahead of his time) and then maybe Bob Dylan, Elvis Costello, Nick Drake |
