I Feel Your Pain
by: Steve Grass

Hi,,
Four years ago my wife & 3 year old daugher were passengers in a car drivin by my wife's best friend.. The car they were in got rear ended & my wife & her friend were killed.. Her friend was killed instantly & my wife died on the way to the hospital.. Our daughter Carrie who was 3 years old at the time was in the back seat in a high back booster seat... Their car was rearended by a 3/4 ton pickup truck... The driver of the pickup just didn't see them..
Him & his wife & 2 year old daughter were not hurt..
Our daughter suffered multiple life threatening injuries and was flown to a hospital where she could receive better care..
She was in the intensive care unit at the hospital for 11 days,, the first 4 days was critical & you just watched the monitors & prayed & gasped whenever the monitor or the respirator made a sudden beep or plunge..
But,,, she made a full recovery is in the 2nd grade doin' great...
So,,, I became a home dad from that point on..
she was so broken up, we had to go right back to diapers & give her sponge baths..

As she started to get better I needed something to help me cope with the loss of my wife & the day to day struggles that followed...
I play guitar so I got a 4 track cassette recorder & started a home recording studio...
That was in march of 2008 & since then I've recorded 408 songs... 65 of those songs I wrote myself... I wrote about everything,,, including songs about losin' my wife..
I play all the instruments,, guitars, bass guitar, acoustic guitars, resonator guitar, pedal steel guitar & keyboard..
I don't know how I could've made it without my music... It got me through then & it continues to help me with the healing process..

True
by: James Hill

Im currently deployed to Iraq and it can very stressful over at times especially thinking about my wife and kids back home. The best way I have found to vent and release stress is sitting down and writing just lyrics, just music, or even both.

Good Post
by: Doc Haley

I can understand how music can be a release valve.

Maybe this tune I wrote 8 years ago says it better for me. It's copyrighted and was on an Indie CD back in 2000 or so.

Title: Album of Memories
Verse
Shadows creep across the room as the day lays down it’s head.
Those hidden thoughts and dreams of you climb slowly into bed
I choose memories from an album hidden in my mind
And pick a page to go to spend my dreaming time

Verse
We walk through forests, over hills, down valleys and cross streams
We never talk, not a spoken word, It’s only in my dreams
We near a bridge that spans my thoughts, one you cannot cross
I turn and look into your eyes and see what I have lost.

Bridge
You appear and all is good, but I know you will leave soon
Holding your hand with my mind hidden in my room

Chorus
Oh how deep the pain is when a heart is torn apart
Like losing a bet when you’ve gone all in, before the hand starts
You can’t go back and change the past no matter how hard you try
A slice of life you’ll never get back, and it makes you want to die

Song break ……with a sad harmonica

Verse
I look back and watch you wave, a tear drop hits the ground
A new flower grows before my eyes, so many it can’t be found
I’ve been here many times before and I’ll return for sure
Until I cross the great divide between my world and hers

Verse
Daylight comes my worlds disturbed, without a second thought
I rise from bed, take on the day, just like I’ve been taught
I empty out my mind taking nothing into day
When night returns I’ll lay down and pick another page

Chorus

Hope you enjoy.
