Just take your lyrics and get a TX form from the copyright office in Washington, D.C., pay $45.00 and send it immediately. As soon as it's received, it's copyrighted. Or you can do it online at: www.copyright.gov.

If you have the music to the lyrics then send that plus the lyrics to them using the PA form.
If you do it online, you would use the CO form, I think. Anyway, you can call the copyright office and get all the information. If you fill out the application online, it's $35.00.

Be very careful and it's better to err on the side of caution.

Actually I am a songwriter who also is a vocalist, however I have been enlisted as a songwriter with this record company. I had a family member demo the song that I wrote. Ps thank you for your help
